These Terms govern your access to and use of the Vocabaura Services.

Last Updated: August 5, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Vocabaura.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Vocabaura website, applications, dictionary services, artificial intelligence features, vocabulary-learning tools, pronunciation features, Reading Mode, Writing Mode, Find My Word, Vocabaura+, AI Credits, vocabulary packs, educational tools, APIs, and other products or services we make available (collectively, the “Services”).

Throughout these Terms, “Vocabaura,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Vocabaura, the seller and operator of the Vocabaura Services. When you purchase Vocabaura+, AI Credits, Vocabulary Packs, or any other paid Vocabaura product, you are contracting with Vocabaura for the Services themselves.

By accessing or using Vocabaura, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Services.

Questions regarding these Terms may be submitted through the Vocabaura Support Center.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to Vocabaura, applicable laws, our business practices, or our Services.

When appropriate, we may provide notice of material changes through the Website, your account, or another reasonable method.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms indicates when they were most recently revised.

Your continued use of Vocabaura after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

4. Eligibility

You must be legally permitted to use the Services under the laws applicable to you.

Certain features, including account creation, purchases, AI functionality, or other interactive services, may have additional age requirements.

If you are not legally permitted to enter into these Terms yourself, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf where permitted by law.

Vocabaura may implement additional safeguards for younger users where required.

5. Accounts

Certain Vocabaura features require a user account.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating and maintaining your account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for activity occurring through your account, except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law.

You may not:

  • Share account credentials in a manner that circumvents account or subscription restrictions;
  • Impersonate another person;
  • Create accounts for fraudulent or abusive purposes;
  • Access another person’s account without authorization;
  • Sell or transfer an account without our permission;
  • Use automated systems to create accounts in bulk.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact the Vocabaura Support Center.

6. Dictionary Information

Vocabaura is designed to make words easier to understand.

Dictionary information may be obtained from licensed, proprietary, open, third-party, or other authorized lexical and language sources.

Although we aim to provide useful and accurate information, language changes over time and definitions, pronunciations, examples, usage, etymologies, classifications, and other linguistic information may contain errors, omissions, variations, or differing interpretations.

Vocabaura does not guarantee that every word, phrase, pronunciation, definition, translation, example, or other piece of linguistic information will always be complete, current, or error-free.

If you believe an entry contains an error, please report it through the Vocabaura Support Center.

7. Simple Meanings

Vocabaura may provide simplified explanations intended to make traditional definitions easier to understand.

A “Simple Meaning” may summarize, simplify, or explain dictionary information and should not necessarily be interpreted as a complete replacement for every formal or technical definition of a word.

Users should consult the complete entry and appropriate authoritative sources when precision is particularly important.

8. AI-Generated Content

Certain Vocabaura features may use artificial intelligence. These may include:

  • Ask Vocabaura
  • Find My Word
  • Context explanations
  • Reading Mode
  • Writing Mode
  • AI-generated examples
  • Word recommendations
  • Simplified explanations
  • Learning exercises
  • Other AI-assisted functionality

AI-generated information can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or inappropriate for a particular context.

You should independently evaluate important information before relying on it.

Vocabaura does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated responses.

9. Important Decisions

Vocabaura is primarily a language and educational service.

Information generated through Vocabaura should not be treated as professional medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other regulated professional advice.

If a word, passage, or AI response concerns an important professional matter, consult an appropriately qualified professional or authoritative source when necessary.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use Vocabaura to:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations;
  • Infringe another person’s intellectual property or proprietary rights;
  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse others;
  • Impersonate another person or organization;
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with another person or organization;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, databases, APIs, or information;
  • Circumvent security, authentication, payment, subscription, usage, or access restrictions;
  • Introduce malware or malicious code;
  • Disrupt or overload the Services;
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, or extract Vocabaura content through unauthorized automated means;
  • Use unauthorized bots or automated systems to abuse the Services;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer protected portions of the Services except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • Fraudulently obtain subscriptions, AI Credits, vocabulary packs, or other paid services;
  • Use the Services in a manner that materially interferes with other users’ ability to use Vocabaura.

We may investigate suspected violations and restrict or terminate access where appropriate.

11. Content You Provide

Certain features may allow you to submit text or other material to Vocabaura, including text for Reading Mode, Writing Mode, Find My Word, AI prompts, feedback, support requests, or future interactive features (“User Content”).

You retain ownership of rights you have in your User Content.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions to provide User Content to Vocabaura.

Do not submit content that violates applicable law or another person’s rights.

12. Permission to Process User Content

When you submit User Content to a Vocabaura feature, you grant us the limited rights necessary to host, process, transmit, analyze, display, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the applicable Services, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

This permission does not transfer ownership of your original User Content to Vocabaura.

Additional terms may apply if Vocabaura later introduces publicly submitted definitions, community posts, or other public user-generated content.

13. Vocabaura+ Subscriptions

Vocabaura may offer a paid subscription known as Vocabaura+.

Features and pricing displayed at the time of purchase will apply to your subscription, subject to these Terms and any additional checkout disclosures.

Vocabaura+ may include features such as:

  • Expanded AI access
  • Advanced contextual explanations
  • Expanded Reading Mode
  • Expanded Writing Mode
  • Personalized vocabulary learning
  • Larger saved vocabulary capacity
  • Advanced quizzes
  • Learning progress
  • Ad-free experiences
  • Other premium functionality

Features may evolve over time.

14. Recurring Billing

If you purchase an automatically renewing Vocabaura+ subscription, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the applicable subscription price, taxes, and disclosed fees at the applicable billing interval until canceled.

For example, Vocabaura may offer monthly and annual billing options.

The price and billing interval presented during checkout control your purchase.

15. Cancellation

You may cancel an automatically renewing Vocabaura+ subscription through the available account or billing-management tools.

Unless otherwise required by law or stated during checkout, cancellation generally stops future renewals rather than immediately terminating access for a period already paid for.

Your access may continue until the end of the applicable paid billing period.

16. Refunds

Vocabaura offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with a purchase, you may request a full refund within 30 days of the order date.

Refunds are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. To request a refund, visit paddle.net or contact the Vocabaura Support Center and we will help you raise it with Paddle.

Full details are set out in the Vocabaura Refund Policy. Where required by law, applicable statutory cancellation or refund rights remain unaffected.

17. AI Credits

Vocabaura may allow users to purchase AI Credits without subscribing to Vocabaura+.

AI Credits may be used for eligible AI-powered features.

The number of credits required for a particular action may vary.

Vocabaura will endeavor to display applicable credit requirements before an eligible paid action.

AI Credits:

  • Have no cash value except where required by law;
  • Cannot ordinarily be redeemed for cash;
  • May not be transferred between accounts unless Vocabaura expressly permits it;
  • May be subject to reasonable technical, fraud-prevention, or account restrictions.

Any expiration policy or other material limitation applicable to purchased credits will be disclosed at or before purchase.

18. Vocabulary Packs

Vocabaura may sell one-time digital products such as Vocabulary Packs. Examples may include:

  • Business Vocabulary
  • Vocabulary for Writers
  • College Vocabulary
  • SAT Vocabulary
  • Medical Vocabulary
  • English Learner Essentials

Purchasing a Vocabulary Pack provides the access or license described at the time of purchase.

Purchasing a digital product does not transfer ownership of Vocabaura’s intellectual property to you.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit paid Vocabulary Packs except where Vocabaura expressly permits it.

19. Payment Processing

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

This means that when you buy Vocabaura+, AI Credits, or a Vocabulary Pack, Paddle is the seller of record for that transaction and is responsible for billing, payment collection, applicable sales tax and VAT, invoicing, refunds, and billing-related support. Vocabaura remains responsible for providing the Services themselves and for product support.

Vocabaura does not receive or store your full payment-card number or security code. Your purchase is also subject to the Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms and Paddle's own privacy notice.

You agree to provide accurate payment and billing information.

You may not knowingly use unauthorized or fraudulent payment information.

20. Prices and Taxes

Prices may change from time to time.

Price changes will not retroactively alter completed one-time purchases.

Changes affecting recurring subscriptions will be handled in accordance with applicable law and any notice requirements.

Applicable taxes may be added to purchases.

21. Changes to Vocabaura

We may add, remove, modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue features or portions of the Services. This may occur because of:

  • Product improvements;
  • Security concerns;
  • Technical requirements;
  • Third-party service changes;
  • Licensing requirements;
  • Legal requirements;
  • Business decisions;
  • Other operational reasons.

We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely.

Where appropriate, we will attempt to provide reasonable notice of material changes affecting paid services.

22. Third-Party Services

Vocabaura may rely on third-party services for functionality including:

  • Dictionary or lexical data;
  • AI processing;
  • Authentication;
  • Payments;
  • Analytics;
  • Pronunciation/audio;
  • Hosting;
  • Security;
  • Advertising;
  • Email delivery;
  • Other infrastructure.

Third-party services may experience interruptions or changes outside Vocabaura’s control.

23. Vocabaura Ownership

Except for third-party materials and User Content, Vocabaura and its associated content and technology are owned by or licensed to Vocabaura and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. This may include:

  • The Vocabaura name;
  • Vocabaura branding and logos;
  • Website design;
  • Original graphics;
  • Interface design;
  • Original educational material;
  • Software;
  • Proprietary functionality;
  • Databases and compilations to the extent protectable;
  • Vocabulary-learning systems;

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Vocabaura intellectual property to you.

24. Limited Permission to Use Vocabaura

Subject to these Terms, Vocabaura grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for their intended purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit protected Vocabaura materials except with permission or where applicable law expressly permits such activity.

25. Third-Party Intellectual Property

Some dictionary data, pronunciation information, content, software, or other materials may belong to third parties and may be used under licenses or other authorized arrangements.

Third-party materials remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

26. Reporting Infringement

Vocabaura respects intellectual-property rights.

If you believe content available through Vocabaura infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, submit a report through the Vocabaura Support Center.

Your report should include, where applicable:

  • Identification of the copyrighted or protected work;
  • Identification of the allegedly infringing material;
  • Enough information for us to locate the material;
  • Your contact information;
  • A statement explaining why you believe the use is unauthorized;
  • A statement that the information in your report is accurate;
  • Confirmation that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on the rights holder’s behalf;
  • Any additional information required by applicable law.

Vocabaura may request additional information before processing a complaint.

27. Feedback and Suggestions

You may voluntarily provide ideas, feedback, suggestions, feature requests, or other comments regarding Vocabaura.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, feedback is provided without an obligation of confidentiality or compensation.

You grant Vocabaura permission to use, adapt, and incorporate such feedback for legitimate business and product-development purposes without compensation to you.

This does not transfer ownership of unrelated creative works or other materials merely because you communicate with Vocabaura.

28. Education Services

Vocabaura may provide educational products for students, educators, tutors, schools, universities, and other organizations.

Additional agreements, privacy requirements, age restrictions, institutional terms, or educational-data requirements may apply to Vocabaura Education.

If separate Education terms conflict with these Terms for an Education service, the more specific Education terms will control for that service.

29. API Access

Vocabaura may provide APIs or developer services.

You may not access or use Vocabaura APIs unless access has been authorized.

API usage may be governed by separate:

  • Developer terms;
  • Licensing requirements;

  • Pricing;
  • Data restrictions;
  • Attribution requirements;
  • Security requirements.

Unauthorized attempts to access or circumvent API restrictions are prohibited.

30. Advertising

Free versions of Vocabaura may display advertising.

Vocabaura may work with third-party advertising providers.

Advertising practices, cookies, identifiers, analytics, personalization, and available privacy choices will be described in our Privacy Policy and applicable consent mechanisms.

Advertisements should be distinguishable from dictionary definitions and editorial content.

Vocabaura+ may provide an ad-free experience as described in the applicable plan.

31. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by the Vocabaura Privacy Policy.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review the Privacy Policy.

Questions or requests concerning privacy may be submitted through the Vocabaura Support Center, subject to any additional legally required request process.

  • Material violations of these Terms;
  • Fraud;
  • Security threats;
  • Illegal activity;
  • Abuse;
  • Unauthorized automated access;
  • Payment fraud;

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

35. Indemnification

37. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
